Data Generator Grain

Generates a single data grain or a grain cloud. A grain is a short envelope pulse of configurable width. Use it for granular triggering, percussive envelopes, or probabilistic event patterns.

Settings

on

Activates or deactivates the module.

out

Output Data flow(s).

min

Minimum value of the output.

max

Maximum value of the output.

large

Grain width in milliseconds.

density

Grain cloud density: number of grains per minute (hits per minute).

Only when synchro = random cloud.

If the density is equal to the maximum allowed, grains are always generated (100% probability).

synchro

  • trigger input: a grain is generated only when the trigger in input receives a trigger.
  • random cloud: continuously sends grains according to the density parameter. Each grain fires at a random time within the density interval.

trigger in

Generates a single data grain.

Only when synchro = trigger input.

trigger out

Fires a trigger each time a grain is generated.

Only when synchro = random cloud.
