Data Generator ADSR

Generates an ADSR (Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release) envelope as a data flow. Works the same as the audio-envelope-ADSR module but outputs a data signal instead of audio. Use it to shape modulation curves, control parameter automation, or create timed transitions.

Settings

bypass

Bypasses the module processing when activated (ON).

  • OFF (0): Module processes normally
  • ON (1): Input passes directly to output without processing

attack time

Attack time in ms.

decay time

Decay time.

sustain level

Sustain level.

sustain time

Sustain duration.

only active when the envelop is triggered with the trigger input.

release time

Release time in ms.

return to zero

Forces the envelope to return to 0 each time it is triggered. When OFF, the new envelope restarts from the current output value.

inverse

Inverts the envelope output: the shape is flipped vertically (1 becomes 0, 0 becomes 1). Useful for creating ducking or fade-out effects.

smooth

Determines if the volume or envelop changes smoothly (ON), or abruptly (OFF).

smooth speed

Smooth speed, only if smooth is ON. Fast value can produce audio glitches.

  • fast
  • medium
  • medium slow
  • slow
  • very slow

shape

Global curve shape of the envelope segments.

  • linear: straight-line segments.
  • natural (expo): exponential curves, producing a natural-sounding response.
  • log: logarithmic curves.

play

Plays the envelop.

stop

Stops the envelope.

trigger

Plays the envelope and stops it (with the release time) after the attack and decay phases.

envelope

Envelope output in the range [0..1].

is playing

Outputs 1 when the envelope is currently playing.
