Audio Octave Divider

Analog-style octave divider (-1 octave). Produces a sub-octave signal by multiplying the input waveform by a smoothed flip-flop that toggles at zero crossings.

The octave divider detects zero crossings in the input signal and uses a flip-flop to invert the polarity of every other half-cycle. This effectively halves the fundamental frequency while preserving the original waveform shape and timbre — the same principle used in classic analog octave divider pedals (Boss OC-2, EHX Octave Multiplexer).

Settings

bypass

Bypasses the module processing when activated (ON).

  • OFF (0): Module processes normally
  • ON (1): Input passes directly to output without processing

in

Audio input flow(s).

out

Audio output flow(s).

mix

Dry/wet blend. At 0 the output is the unprocessed input signal; at 1 the output is fully the sub-octave signal.

tone

Low-pass filter cutoff for the sub-octave signal. Range: 0..1, mapping to 100..5000 Hz. Lower values produce a darker, rounder sub tone; higher values let more harmonics through.
