Choosing the Right Panner

For stereo:

  • Stereo Panner for simple left/right positioning

For multi-speaker installations:

  • DBAP 2D/3D for distance-based amplitude panning (natural attenuation)
  • Quadratic 2D/3D for quadratic distance falloff with multi-source/multi-speaker flexibility
  • VBAP 2D for vector-based panning, especially with irregular speaker layouts

For surround and immersive audio:

  • Surround Panner for 2D multi-speaker setups (up to 64 speakers)
  • Surround Panner 3D for full 3D immersive audio with height channels
