It looks like when I add (or change) aspects of my patch, it breaks existing presets.

Does anybody have a 'behind the scenes' look at how presets are stored? How does Usine deal with changes to a patch?

Breaking presets is a pretty big issue for me--I hope there's some good logic for preserving them through changes to a patch.... I don't want to feel like adding a feature is going to mean hours of work reconstructing presets.....

Thanks for any info. I just had my first successful rehearsal with usine, so that was good. But at the beginning, I added a couple of buttons, and then all the presets broke :(

I reverted to the saved patch, and it was okay again.

The preset stores all the values of all modules of the patch (included sub patches) , but it doesn't store the patch structure itself.

So if you change the structure of the patch and recall a preset made for an old structure, you can have strange result.
(new modules are ignored)

I don't expect existing patches to know what to do about new modules (just put them in a default state, I assume?) but I had a problem with two existing faders not changing their values in the presets....

I will see if I can replicate the problem today.

you can verify that the 'not store in preset' is active (right click)?

Hi,

Did you mean inactive Olivier?

I've had the same trouble with a fader. I had to save each position for every song again.
I'm sure I hadn't touched nor the "fader" patch structure, nor its position in the grid, but I was working on another patch in the same track grid.

well, i've done a bit more work in this patch, and so far, it hasn't lost my preset settings for the two faders in question, despite adding quite a few more features.

Not sure why it did it before.... If I track something down, I'll let you know. But it's working really well for my simple drum kit setup, which is functioning as a simplified test platform for live work.

I'll see how it goes in performance saturday, but it's been solid for two rehearsals now.....

cheers!
