Hey,
I hadn't used Usine in a while but now I really dig HH 2 with the new timeline - great improvement.

But one thing I find quite annoying: each time I start Usine it comes up at this small default size and all other parts also don't remember their last sizes/positions. Sounds trivial but after the 10th restart it begins to go on ones nerves... ;-)

My request would be:

Global:
- Remember last window position and size for the main window.
- Remember position and size of the browser.
- Remember position and size for external windows in case this is selected in preferences (for instance I'd like to have the patch window on my second monitor).
- If the patch window is inline, remember the position of the split line between patch and racks.

Per Project:
- Remember the last layout of every project. Timeline open/closed/size, browser open/closed, patch open/closed, last patch loaded, etc.
Basically I should be able to load my project and be back where I left off as much as possible.
Not only would this save tons of clicks, it would also help remembering where I was last time I worked on something.

Thanks and cheers,

Tom

So you can set the FullScreen =1 and it will remember the setting.
I've tried to create a shortcut and run maximized, however I think Usine is overriding the main windows sizing.
Typically if you ctrl and click the window X it will remember the size, however I think there is a default in Usine that is not exposed in the default-settings.ini

An alternate if you are a shortcut person is to use windowskey+up and it will maximize the window.

There are some 3rd party programs I believe out there that can override window size and positions, however yes it should be handled natively in Usine.

So as far as the workspace and remembering the position, it looks like in the wkp file that there is memory that the grid and possibly other items are shown visible.
I think probably when the workspace is loaded, a default is executed which closes all of the window and basically initializes them all closed.

Hey sephult, thanks for the reply.
It's good to hear that the basics may already be there to allow for layout-remembering.

The thing is, I don't want the window to be full screen. I have two big monitors and usually have the main window smaller than my 30" so that the browser fit's outside, not covering anything.

If I would use external windows for the patch etc. I'd also not want to cover the whole second screen with it, since I would want the settings window next to it (docking would help there... ;-) ).

So hopefully it's possible at one point to override that default and use the last settings used for everything.

Cheers,

Tom

I agree thomas!

I use a two-touch screen computers, a secondary monitor, a 60", and 42" in my setup.
Remembering and position is a big thing for me as well. One of my issues too, I ranted in a previous post was ability to resize plugins...lol I soo wish.
If I remember, I think the plugins do retain their monitor positions when re-opened. I think that is intact, like I said I just think Senso has a default initialization that is overriding
the positional and visibility flags when the workspace is open.
