Having problems with receiving values that havent changed
I keep encountering this in Hollyhock, I think it must be mostly a bus thing ,if I activate a patch or a preset and need to have an existing value sent over the bus without changing the value to trigger the bus to transmit, what is the best approach for this? In one circumstance I have used an on activation module to trigger an unused array value to activate the bus, this works, but in another circumstance I need to fetch the current values from a fader that controls tempo to my outboard gear and I can't just sent a random value, unless maybe a .0001?. Is it really necessary in such a case that I put a master sync module in each of my patches? Maybe more for a feature request, but maybe an option for data buses to always transmit current values? Or perhaps the "Constant" module could be adapted to this purpose? I have found this confusing now on numerous occasions.
As often happens soon after I make a post asking for help, I have found a method that seems to work to pass the existing value from the fader to the bus when the patch is activated. An On Activation module triggering a Stop Event Flow module appears to activate the bus to transmit the value. This will do the trick for now.
