I was curious how people have there fx's setup.
All my instruments feed one fx bus. Ideally i would like to have a couple more with some kind of switcher so that i can route the audio through different busses. (there are loads of good vst plug fx's!)
Each bypassed vst still adds latency to the overall signal correct?
I feel that one bus with a few vst's is ok latency. I dont notice it so much.
I imagine if i hardwired bus a into b then bus b into c i would notice more latency even if they were bypassed.
SO it seems like some kind of switching matrix would be cool to use.
fx bus
seems like the matrix audio module may be what im looking for. I will try it out now. I hope that the routings can be stored with the conductor.
And as an alternative, you can also check the last add-on of Joffo :

joffo's workspace seems a great example of what i was sort of aiming at.
thanks NAy

I have four fx set up (using usine's FX busses) that can feed into each other. Also, I have my sends set up so that 0=dry .5 = 50%wet 1=100%wet. Easy to do with usine, and you don't need a pre/post-fader switch. Each instrument only goes to one of the four FX, but each effect can go into another.
I set everything up so I can dial up sounds really quick from a one-page interface, so that is my thinking. I started out wanting more busses, but usine's internal busses seem to be more CPU efficient (important when you are running 20+ vsts!)
One of my FX is an instance of Zen, which can load presets from different VSTs, and stores them all in a common bank. It works, but it is a little buggy. It doesn't like certain vsts, and usine doesn't like certain ones too, so it's a bit of a challenge. The other three are a custom delay built in reaktor, ReverberateLE (with a lot of crazy 3rd party impulses) and guitar rig. So that gives me quite a lot of sonic flexibility.
