Im a BOOTCAMP mac user recently setting up Windows 7.
What is the best way to store and organize Vst presets?
Some folder hierarchy tips would help.
At this point I find myself with:
C:Program Files(x86)/ Steinberg/VSTplugins
Sylenth installed itself there.
The folder has banks of presets as well as a manual and the Sylenth.dll file.
Everything in one place.
On the MAC i was used to seperating the vst's and AU's from the preset folders. Often in some other place.
Does it matter?
I also perhaps foolishly made a couple.
C: Program files/vstplugins
that folder has a bunch of 32bit .dll's and a couple of folders of presets.
alot of others went into the Documents folder.
Seems that documents folder is a good place to keep them.
Then just the .dll 's in the vst folder.
thanks for your organization help.
vst preset organization
i suppose it doesnt matter too much where the presets go. I had this problem because this one vst Harmonyrotator32 never loads the preset that the usine workspace uses. I always have to load the preset for it manually.
i've a sub folder named Presets where i store all my presets for my VST, works fine,
Some VST have an exotic way to store preset, are you talking about Harmonyrotator from tone carver..? still in beta stage right..?

I've made a test and it seems this VST send a reset on initialization, so 'I've found a workaround :
note you have to built this patch in this order : create a wire from the array out of the VST first and choose Display or Set array
then built the rest of the patch , duration can be any values, here I've keep 128 ms
save your presets with the preset manager of Usine
