You know I just noticed that the Program Names are only inputs to the VST and not outputs from the VST.
The only way I can seem to retrieve the latest update of Programs from the VST is to destroy the combo/list and recreate

Any other options anyone can think of?
Anyway to read back into a FastScript the list?

I am thinking a commatext output would be good to feed back into a combo or list or whatever Program Control you would like to use.

I guess one of the questions is if anyone has any Internal Message usage in fastscript that I can reference to learn how to use.
I think this might be my only way without getting the commatext output from a VST.

Im quite sure i did it by the past. Need to find back the scripts. But if i well remember neede to give a name to item ie "sampler" then the iml commands are getcommatext and setcommatext smthin like that.

didn't found back full code but this (where LIST was the name given to my combobox, and sl1 was a tstringlist):

Code: Select all

Procedure U_comma;
begin
SendInternalMsg('SET_TARGET_PATCH','SENDER_PATCH');
sendinternalMsg('SET_STRING_VALUE','LIST','comma text',SL1.commatext);
end;
so i beleive you first need to use something like 'GET_STRING_VALUE','SAMPLER','list comma text',SL1.commatext);

or maybe you can directly copy the text without first storing in internal SL1, dk, have to try..

Awesome thank you 23fx23,

That was the direction I started going last night, but I couldn't really understand the syntax of the IML in reference to how I was using.
Typically I phrase it like, setvalue, destination name, variable name. So when I approached I was all confused with the different variants and was totally lost at what I was doing for a bit :cool:

I will try again today with your suggestions and see what I can come up with.
Hopefully I can pull the VST names out into a script and push them back forward to a list with updates.
