I am changing icons on switches programatically using the new icon inputs. but I'm not sure of the syntax to use. Slash, backslash? I've been getting crashes by experimenting (I guess this is a touchy subject) so I'd like to just know, rather than guessing ;)

Also, I'd like to keep my icons in the usine folder, rather than hard-coding a path. Ideally, I'd put them in a subfolder inside config, as that's the folder I update with new releases. Then the icons would always be found.

Is there a syntax for this? Does usine have a %HOME% folder??

If not, consider this a feature request :)

cheers,
-eric

P.S. I realized I'm sending these path strings down a buss, so the bug where text doesn't work in busses may play a part in these crashes.

Okay, this was user error. Forward slash works fine, I just had an invalid path.... not sure why it crashed, tho. And the text sends down the buss fine, it's just commaText that doesn't work??? HH apparently automagically looks inside the program directory.

However, I just set up a simplest possible test, and I get this result:

2 of the icons are found and display, so the idea is correct. One Icon won't display, and one won't display but also gives a 'file not found' error. (EDIT: this version of the patch only has 3 options, of which 2 display.)

Can someone try and test this? Unzip the file, and put the icons in a folder called PNGs inside the config folder.

I tried reloading and restarting several times, and got the same result.

Also, I notice that the fileselector is disabled when a cable is plugged into the icon input on the switch, but not re-enabled when I disconnect the wire. Also, the icon listed in the parameter display sometimes stops updating, even though the icon is changing.

Heres another version of the patch with more choices:

On this one, only two icons out of 8 work..... thoughts?

If someone can replicate, I'll file a bug report.

thanks,
-e
