Hi.

I work on an Auto_Rec patch wich can rec and save sounds lounder than a specific value. I want to active and desactive the patch on specific hour.
I build a workspace and it seems ok but there is somme bug that i can't solve !!! :o

This workspace detect db value with ''EnvFollw'' module and rec and save sound lounder than the threshold value. It still recording the sound during the ''Release time'' even if there is no value lounder than the threshold value

This is my workspace : (There is some comment in the patch)
http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/upload ... to_Rec.wkp

But there is a few strange things :

When i load and acive the patch ''Auto_Rec'' for the first time the''Toggle'' witch activ the Rec (just before the Rec Switch) is on 1 and i have to clic it manually to pass the Toggle to 0. The second time the patch is activated it is ok. ???

Some times, specialy when there is a lot of sounds and the pach stop and rec a lot, all the process is reversed !
It recods a lot of few ms sound, like it records when it didn't had to and no record when he had to ... ???

I just add a counter witch stop the ''EnvFollow'' analysis for 7 sec during the sound is saved. I will test it.

If some one could have a look to this patch and help me to debug it, he or she is welcome.
The longer sound that it record until now is 4 mn. Is it possible there is a problem with long sound ?

i hope it is clear with my bad english ... :/
The next 3 weeks i will work a lot and i won't have time to work on it, but i will check my mail and try to participate to this topic.

Thanks a lot.

hi c modia,
will try to have a more precise look at the workspace, but one thing i feel could help you is the 'INIT' module in /interface control
that can send a tiny pulse each time you open the Wksp, that could ie reset the 'toggle'.
About that toggle,
globally, i feel there are sometimes more secured way than toggle (wich could invert or bad init easily, hard to track),
it does work as espected, but it can be lucky poker sometimes. i prefer to use the VarAffect module
or multiVar in math, that can let you more cleacly affect 1 or 0 (or other).

for exemple, a var module can affect 1 if therehold is above wanted value, then when value goes back under you can make
it affect 0. you could connect the init as well to affect so on init it resets to 0.

the advantage is more always excactly what you ask. ie you could say affect 0 only if rec time was > to a lenght value,
or auto stop rec if > too long time ect, more esy to debug i feel than revert toggle.
here a basic ex you could use in your patch:

Thank you 23fx23.

I deleted the toggle and replace it with a Variable Module. I will test it toonignt. Perhap's the strange reversed process will be solve now that the toggle module desapear ? ...

This is the new workspace without toggle :

I forgot the INIT Module. Thank you, it is very usefull in many situation.

I think my patch is more complex than it should be ... i think it can be more useful with a better programing but ...

I will tell you if it is ok.
Thanks a lot

The patch worked fine last night. It is seems the the Var module make a better job than the Toggle module in this case.
Thanks.
