Is it possible?
I experimented with making the list scroller really wide, and making it invisible. It works pretty well, but it doesn't scroll unless I find the scroller. Fairly easy if it is big, hard if it's small.
Anyway to interpret relative mouse motion in this situation, so the list can be scrolled from anywhere along the right side--i.e within the scroller width area....
Also, I notice that the scroller position doesn't always match the list display, after starting up. And after a patch change, the list does not scroll to display the current selection. That would be nice.
