I am wishing I could midi learn, control and have access to the menu items of interface objects from within sub patches without having to route them to the parent patch or interface. I have a whole wackload of faders to set up just for midi learn and feedback purposes and I don't especially want to have to arrange them all in an interface builder window or have them otherwise clutter my work area...

what about the patch remote panel (the R icon on top of each tracks) ?
From here you have access to all midi learn an remote functions for all interface objects within the track. Of course, you have at least to name your interface objects correctly to make them identifiable.
