I have been working on a new approach for my hardware sequencers integration into Usine for composition and live performance and in the process I am finding the rack view quite a good layout out for the tacks composing and arranging part, but I will need to move some of these components to the interface builder for the performance aspect which will require a lot of toggling back and forth to access different functions.. My suggestion if were feasible would be to have the option for containers and patches to be visible and separately arranged in layout in two places at once.

I'm glad someone just brought this up. I was just messing with this and reading up on it last night. The fact that if you decide to put something on the Interface Builder, it disappears from the rack/patch makes the Interface Builder unbearable to use. It's the only reason I never use it, and I would actually really love to use it. But this paradigm doesn't work (for me). Rather than selecting where to put an object (rack, parent, patch, workspace, etc) by dropdown, I'd like to see an additional switch/checkbox to determine whether it shows up on the IB or not. Respectfully, that is a more intuitive approach IMO. It could very well be that I haven't allowed myself time to acquiesce to the way the IB works, but I really would prefer it to work differently.

Oh wow, it already looks like it's under development: http://www.sensomusic.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5481 that is, at least the selector for showing in IB.

If you mean to have a particular control or patch show up multiple times in the same IB (??), then that would be some sort of alias function right? That would certainly be different scenario than that which I originally understood you to mean

Oh.. Senso is already ten steps ahead of me. "in HH3 there is an option 'also visible in IB"
Funny too I even posted a reply in the thread without registering that point. It wasn't something I thought about specifically until just recently. Ok.. Can I have HH3 tomorrow please.?;}
