I've been tweaking my system to get less clicks out of a particular Kontakt instrument (Signal by Output Inc.). I came across the multi-processor setting in Kontakt with the warning:

"Please note that enabling multi-processor support in both your host and Kontakt can lead to audio problems."

Is it safe to dismiss this warning?

I'm on an intel i7 quad core system.

I've this enabled by default in my version (au and vst plugin kontakt 5 ( v 3.1.0.4) with 4 cores enabled, no problems here.
