I have just tried patch sharing for the first time with a patch that will be used to remotely control a FOH loudspeaker setup and it appears there is only interface control items shared?
I was assuming that I would be able to view VU meter activity, interact directly with VST interfaces and even remotely edit the patch.. Essentially be able to have full remote interaction with the patch, but I'm guessing these things are not possible at this time? Or is there something I may have missed?

Either way, it's still a pretty awesome feature for some uses, just not quite what I was expecting.. Might have to use a VNC app instead.. Meters are important for FOH sound, even if they are a bit lagging ;)

Any suggestions for a good VNC app? Especially one that would play well with a touch screen..

I'll suggest OSC.

to communicate both ways between the 2 computers

Update:

I settled on TightVNC for my uses, works quite well for remote "Usining" with the exception that there is only single point touch and for some reason buttons tend to only function once via touch and then not function again until used with the touchpad / mouse. I must say it was quite something yesterday during sound check to stand in front of the speaker stack and have full remote control of all levels, EQ's, delays etc.. :)

Maybe sometime in the future the Usine remote patch function can hopefully be expanded to include full remote interaction and visual feedback..?

teamviewer is cool also. free and find it a bit more efficient than vnc, to single touch as well of course

Thanks. I did try to use teamview but gave up when the server side would not establish a connection. Perhaps I should try again.
