I went to a LoveTech thing where a guy ran a hotspot on his Mac. He had people in the audience download a TouchOSC template from his web server and use OSC to remotely control the video he was showing. At the time it felt like the rock concert of the future. Couldn't you picture a app you download before a concert and manipulate the light show or vote on song order or compose a song on the fly? I'm working on a song concept based on this idea but I'm going to use a web page on the private network instead of TouchOSC to take that extra step out of the user setup.

Interesting concept Cleverconqueso and i agree about interactivity in live show !

iococoi, not sure this connectify appz can be considered as a gadget, more a wifi tool..?

Haven't used connectify but having tried creating an ad hoc network directly with XP and after a lot of messing around I don't think it's possible, at least not with my machine. I'm DL'ing connectify now anyway, might work for me. Instead I got a small usb powered router about the size of a deck of cards and I can create my own network/hotspot anywhere. Worked great in the back blocks of Cambodia!! I haven't used an open network for OSC control by other people though - a really good idea! It'd be a great source of random data!

Could you make a simple webpage that people could load from your server and avoid people having to install touchOSC? I'd imagine people would be more likely to use something they don't have to install? Not sure how you'd do it, but I'd guess it's possible?
