I am looking at the Iiyama T2250MTS - 22 inch / Full HD Lcd Multitouch - Would it be any good for me running Win7?

Usine, OSC etc are gonna be used mostly.

Keen to hear the experts thoughts

I have this Dell ST2220T monitor.
1. first of all this is not multi-touch monitor like stereo is not multi-channel. I had problems with win 7, but I tested on win 8 developers preview and it works. Just noticed that contact_XY not work, but it's normal because "Those values are not available on all touch devices".
2. It seams for me that optical touch technology is usable only for movements, but not for typing. Because touch response is very slow. theoretically 15 ms [for Dell] must be very good result, but actually it is more than 50 ms or even 100 ms. Because 15 ms response is true only if you type with one finger in the same place. tray to type two different points on monitor response will be really slow. even mouse is faster than two finger type.
3. capacitive touch technology is much better, but I think it they cost 600$ and more...

When I touch the screen the small point appears on monitor - it is like mouse pointer. The problem was that this pointer appears not under my finger, but somewhere else. I couldn't click on any icons, folders or applications.

Have you try the calibration tool in Windows 7...?

no there's a specific tool :

1_ Tap the Start button, Control Panel and then Hardware and Sound.
2_ Under Tablet Pc Settings, tap Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
3_ On the Display tab, under Display options, tap Calibrate and then Yes to allow the program to make changes.
4_Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the touch screen.

But there is one more issue, sometimes I need to unplug and plug again USB cable.

you can try an other usb port if you have one free
I've also see this tips : in the device manager, look for your usb root hub properties/power management , uncheck "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power "...help in some cases

So i finally picked up the dell last week and received it today as i couldn't find the samsung anywhere

I must admit, that despite it's very good as screen (the IPS and colors are very good, cool design/size and pod features), i am a bit
disapointed by the touch feature.. mine doesn't register fast and light touch, you need touch to stay a certain amount of time, and latency/lag is not drastic but quite noticeable for the first track,( but then it's quite fast tracking XY). the problem is more Z latency. i was thinking optical could register faster, straightly as fingerwas tiny above screen cutting beam, but here it seems they added a counter or scaning rate is a bit slow. dk.i'ts still fairly ok when you get used to with one finger, but ie registering 2 consecutive fast and light touch with 2 fingers is void to lots of fails or need consequent time btw 2 touchs (velocity midi pads still have a win for a while as fast poly triggers, as espected). it seems to behave correctly however to keep tracking of the 2 points once long move is engaged, even if they cross, that's cool. It's still a very good deal for the price, and i can't wait testing deeply with usine , and im probably a bit too much demanding, but indeed we are far from apple or other capacitive response..that's the iphone syndrom.. well capacitive are as said not the same price by the way... now stop moaning got atlast usine touch wouhou!!

Yup same here - A bit underwhelming, but anticipated.

I kind of feel like it might have better to cough up the extra money and go for a iiyama with capacitive touch... Ah well - like the previous poster said, still pretty stoked to get starting with Usine!
