I'm looking for an app I can perform a live show with. I have looked at Max/MSP, Live, AudioMulch.
I need to be able to use a Monome/Livid Industries type controller to trigger events within the software and control parameters.
My show is similar to Flying Lotus, comprised of samples and MIDI, and triggering these in real time while tweaking.
I'm looking at the new Lenovo X120e 11" netbook with AMD's new dual core APU, with 4GB of RAM
It has HDMI out, not sure if I can use a touch screen display to control Usine? Which is recommended?
The unit has yet to be released, so not entirely sure of the input capabilities of the HDMI.
Does Usine have sampling/sample triggering capabilities.

In my opinion, Usine is perfect for what you want to do. The interface builder is tailered to suit touchscreen use perfectly and Usine is in face multi touch capable. As with any capable software, there will be a learning curve so don't expect to be doing shows with it next weekend. Usine has both robust midi and OSC integration so yes you could communicate direct from monomeserial OSC or midi and use and manipulate the incoming data very freely. In many regard, your imagination is the limit.

I do worry about asking a netbook to do too much live audio work. Also would it not be better to get a computer with a touch screen already integrated? THis comes to mind: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/landing_pages ... technology
Most important, spend some time with the free version and make sure you can get comfortable with how Usine works.
