Until now I used Usine only for live situation, using the grid, IB & sometimes the Conductor.
Now, since it allso has a sequencer I'm investigating the possibilities of using the sequencer despite the fact that the manual states that you shouldn't expect it to replace a tradional sequencer :D

After some testing, it seems to me that you can use it as a traditional sequencer....

And now for my question :

ok, I start with an empty workspace and want to create a new midi clip. The manual states that you should drag an empty midifile to the track where you want it. So, I created an empty midi file, called it 'empty_midi' and now I can drag it to the seq track, perfect !
But... it looks like I can't rename that clip or I didn't find how to do it ????
The only way I found is using the command 'Save patch as...' but I realy don't want to save all those clips as patches.

Did I miss something here, or is a command like 'Rename clip' missing ?

sorry, no midi "clip" in Usine..just patches and midi files...
when you open it, there is modules inside , so it's a patch....;)

you're talk about " clip"..so
i just tell you that if you double click on this midi file you have drag & drop in the sequencer
you will see modules...? so it's a patch...:)
in Usine there's no clip but patches...
so if you want save your work , you can save as patch or save as midifile..
am i more clear..?

Yes i understand, but my problem stays the same :)
I don't see a way of renaming the patch then and I don't want to save every single patch of my workspace

so you have to ask senso a "save track as " option..?
but this will not resolve your name patch question...
what difference for you between saving patch name and saving clip name...?
