as it's so hard to wait true descent multitouch lcd..

You probably saw all those videos exploring with ir and wiimote,

Im thinking of building a slim glove that would have 4 ir leds on fingers, and wires would swich on or off the led when finger is down
(either by a second wiimote (Method1: one wiimote top view to track XY, another front view to track Z, if a finger is lower than a limit, it's considered as a clic// complexe) or method 2: slim switches unter the fingers, but didn't found yet cool ones...

Another pb I ve been facing is that IR led are getting very hot, need to experiment, but
as wiimote can track up to 4 dots at same, it could make a less conveniant but cheap, waiting solution...
and seeying results I had in my tries, (just one ir dot on top of screen contols the mouse, it's very responsive, (very cool linked to a crossfader ) as it tracks and convert data quasi real time at 100Hz in a 1024x768 resolution if i well remeber, might be as responsive than any cheap "slate" of this rez, with 4 fingers, still have to build a support but not really a pb.
ther will be also the pb of feeding that to W7, but im sure there will be solutions, focusing if hw can be easy done..

any ideas on a cool swiching method, what to use? ideally they should be very thin.

ive made a quick monotouch prototype with what i had avaible (some metropolitain ticket bend ,cello and chocolate tablet alumium for contacts)
and was quite impressed by the results, it's very speed responsive in paint program tests even better imo than my previous touch layer, with relatively good accuracy (using
johnny lee calibration util "the white board":) , and metro ticket bend touch feeling is not that bad!

wanted to make a test with usine and as i reboot c'ant connect via bluesoleil anymore aarf. fçè-àà))g wiimote/bluetooth is a pain..
anyway if you have already a wiimote it can be a good tip to experiment touch screen on any monitor for quasi free.

yes, that why i've let this solution too , bluetooth and wii are not easy and unstable in many case

really unstable, yes sadly...
i just sold my MBP that was on W7 last week, im now back on old Win XPsp2 i upgaded to XP3.
if i well remember it was pain also on W7..

what bother me the most Is that on first time i plugged a usb broadcom bluetooth stick, as i had no ms bluetooth stack (wonder why..) so i downloaded an evaluation of bluesoleil, and I connected the wiimote without pb on first try!!!, when i could draw so fast and accurate i said myself woa, gonna try to make a little vid with usine, I reboot without apparent changes and now no ways, it see the wiimote but not access hid services, plus it ask me for a code i should be able to bypass but it doesn't work.

anyway i experienced a lot whith wiimote a long time ago and this has always been a pain.. It was always working cool and when I had to play live it always suddently let me down, so i think i'll let down this time too.
i'ts sad, because it was a really cheap and responsive solution when working, and coulbe extended to 4 fingers for sure..
arf, back to quietly waiting..

if anyone has a tip to get back ms bluetooth stack, cause even if deinstalling broadcom driver, bluesoleil and reistalling SP3 i can't get it back, and im not motivated for a complete format/reinstall....

great ! very reactive indeed , where solution do you use finally..? , the wimote is behind you ..?
in the demo of Johnny Chung Lee , i like the idea at the end , when the wii is at the top of the screen..

yes the wiimote is behind me, cause im using a very heavy old 19'crt!

i have to test on top of a laptop, i supose there will be a slight compression, but might be ok cause it performs very well in his examples.

and maybe , be careful cause most of labtops screens are not manufactured to be touched..?

oh yeah, I almost forgot that

it's working great, im just so sad i couldn't find any tool that would allow native multitouch conversion with W7, if any find one let me know!!!
