Hi,
I will travel a long way by train, and i was thinking using the Keyboard to midi patch. I have deleted the midi out module to replace it with a vst instrument. But when i'm presing keyboard keys nothing happen on the vst instruments. Can anyone give me some clues about using this patch ?? and how can i use different octave ? The pitch slider doesn't seem to change anything....
Thanks in advance.....

I also took a look and also didn't understand much; it seems the use use of the var modules doesn't work as intended. Too late too dig into this now...
What about creating a patch yourself using switches w/keylearn? 0to1 creates NoteOns, 1to0 creates NoteOffs. You get the added benefit of choosing what the keyboard "layout" should like. There's probably something to be found out there in VST-land as well.

there's a few vst's/standalone things out there, of which tracktionkeys is my favourite, but there's quite a few others if you do a google.
unfortunately none of them work right for my laptop so i tried building something in usine but the key detector outputs a double pulse - one when you press the key intially and another when you hold the key - which kind of makes life difficult unfortunately. you could maybe use the hysterisis module to change this but i thought it might increase latency too noticeably. i think i had a problem with polyphony as well so i ended up building something in bidule (as much as i hated having to go back to it!) that does the trick polyphonically and works fine. you're welcome to it if you need it...

You're right Clearscreen, I forgot both the key repeat and polyphony problem.

hi noise2sine,
Ive made a quick patch, I hope will work for you as my keyboard is a mac..
W is for octave down and X for octave up.
unfortunately monophonic, as it seems no way to get the infos of wich key is released indeed, maybe a suggest/improv?
maybe still usefull for quick tests. will try to improve and convert to add on, tell me if it works for you:

edit: if mapping pb, you can spy wich key is pressed in keyboard module, and adjust the mapper values.
hope it can help

you're welcome little mouse..
I study the polyphonic pb actually but didn't found a solution yet, cause no way to know wich key is realeased from the keyboardmodule. Tried a solution with swichs and keylearn as mentioned by bsork, but firsts tests seems to have same pb on release if polyphonic. best i could get for now is polyphony but all notes mutes if one is relased...
investigating...

waiting for a reel polyphonic one , you can root the 2 create module to a script "Midi Auto Harmony II" for exemple ( in your midi/midi tool ) and the shift outlet of the keyboard module to the "on " inlet of this script...?
so when pressing shift , you have chord..?
i know it's not perfect but...

I ve uploaded a polyphonic attempt in midi tools.
not perfect as when more than one note played any note release will mute all notes,
well maybe still usefull for quick testing, with chords
