Hello,

i have tried to uninstal the bloody service pack 3 but i didn't manage to do that. In the add remove panel, i just can see plenty of windows update without seeing the service pack 3. Are these update elements of the service pack 3 ? Can i remove all of them ? and then installing the service pack 2 ?

I have tried the last version of usine with the driver Asio4all and i have plenty of audio cracks even with latency set on 2048 ! Do u know an other asio driver that i can try ?
u
Where can i find informations concerning the notebook optimised version of Usine ?

thanks in advance!!!

I can't help you precisely to solve you setup problem.
I have many computers at home and a Samsung NC10 netbook.
I can run Usine without any problem using Asio4all and the built-in audio sound card.
Now, as I know, most of pb comes from drivers and particularly from conflicts between the soundcard driver and the some other drivers installed on your machine.

try to find with google a small utility called 'Latency Checker'. On their site they explain a procedure which can help you to solve you pb.

For example, on my tablet pc under vista I'm obliged to disable the CD-ROM in order to play correctly with a normal latency and without audio clicks. Just because a conflict between the Usb and the CD-ROM drivers....

The netbook optimized version is just a reduced version of Usine:
- x4 grid only
- 2 aux send

it can help to reduce the cpu load of few %

The other thing is that the Intel 270 CPU is too small for live music utilization, except for very small workspace. Can be used for small interactive installations but don't expect miracles....
On my net book the Asio driver take 40% CPU, just to run, without any audio precessing... and its not a matter of Usine.

many thanks for yr tips !!! this freeware is really useful !!! As i have a 160 giga hard drive i will use a partition in order to install an old window xp with just the service pack 2 !!!! I'm going to Stromboli in order to record music and sounds and i really want that Usine will be part of the trip !!! As u said i will use extremely reduced workspace like just two tracks.....
Thanks again for yr attention.
