workspace, patches, modules, presets etc

Discovering & patching since 3 days now (and loving it!), I'm confused about a couple of things.

I got what are workspace, patches, modules & presets.

1/ 2 cents about the preset window
I'm patching by putting my modules in a patch (!).

BUT if the preset (which is specific for each module, I guess) is a VERY nice solution to store reusable part; very often, some parameters require you to go to the preset window even if you don't need to store them.

example
led module
I want to change the background bmp, I have to "edit layout"
Naturally, it would be nice to hit this parameter item directly in the patch window at the top-left in the part where we can tweak the modules parameters.

just my 2 cents

2/ and two questions
Can I create a preset file from scratch ?

I guess all presets are in FilesSkins

How is the association between a preset file & a module done ?
with the filename which has to match the module name ?

yes when you patch you put modules in a patch and if you put this patch in a patch it become a sub-patch and so..:)

presets in Usine are store by the preset manager module .
Presets store the state of the modules of the patch ( or parent patch or even top parent patch ) depending of the target mode of the preset manager
About the layouts of the modules, as I've answer in the other topic, this will be accessible in the parameter panel one..

2_if i understand you correctly, preset for layouts are store with their bmp files with same name yes
