SOS tested a intatouch DIY touchscreen kit here:
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar06/a ... ?print=yes
interesting: " you really need to be looking straight at the screen: because there's a gap between the touch screen and the LCD beneath, the two appear slightly out of alignment if viewed at an angle"
-> could hold for other models too.. would make live use sloppier..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz-vN8XvXpM
shows a transportable touch screen. if this is cheap, thats the kind of thing I'd like to get! any ideas?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gezANCT ... re=related
another way... multitouch for <20$ (webcam + video tracing software)..well nothing live gig proofed I guess ;)

anybody knows the LG Flatron L1730SF 17'? read it can be mounted on a wall like a picture. this thing could do the trick for me then, as said around 550-600$, reaction time ~12ms...

Doas this mean that I can use my Wacom tablet with a pen to control Usine ?
yes of course.
Also, the tablet pc mode works with a 'normal' mouse!

They're in the UK and are quite cheap... though the install is quite DIY.
Looking forward to the new Using TouchScreen Version.
cheers

thanks for the tip, mr. senso

not sure if a mountable touch screen layer would be a solution for me, cause I have a rackmount desktop pc, no laptop. currently I take a 19' monitor with me (not cool)

for me: if I have a touchscreen I want high quality, the models I tried so far (<500$) did not suffice. albeit I have among other behringer controllers I believe money should not be saved for controller hardware, rather for plugins (and go to gersic.com).

some models:
guess I want 17' at least.
-> Clevo Tablet PC: too small for my taste, kewl is portability
-> touchscreen monitors: LG Flatron L1730SF 17' for ~600$, and the iiyama ProLite T1930SR-1 19' for ~750$. maybe too cheap
-> pen tablets: not sure if working with a pen instead of fingers is nice. looks more expensive...
Wacom Pen Display PL-720, 17": ~1700$
Belinea s.display 5, 22", Pen Tablet, ~1700$

--> found no transportable touch screen monitor?
--> go for a normal monitor and follow senso's recommendation?
--> do you think it makes sense to wait for multitouch monitors?
lemurs exclusitiviy seems to fade away..apple is going hard to bring it to the mass market. maybe 1 year to wait for a 700$, 17' multitouch device?

For example

I'll try to complete the list soon.

Personnally I have a Clevo Tablet PC

One of the cheapest, and highly customizable.
