second thought : maybe open the bcr2000 to see if the leds are white with red plastic on or if this is directly the leds we see....?

ur bcr paiting is a very nice idea. will do some painting on my bcr too, found it confusing too, often have to think twice when I turn the 4th, 5th or 6th knob in a row.
painting question here: do you think it would be possible to achieve different LED colors? like u would paint the tiny spots where the red lights are (using a very fine brush) with a ????-type color so that the LED's shine in a fancy green or blue? does such a color material exist? is this idea totally bullocks?
