what usually happen is a position is sent, followed by start/continue, then playback is initiated at proper speed following the MidiClock.

when you are talking about creating a patch, is it with ready made modules or with delphi coding... if the idea you have is with modules I could try and do it myself since I could test it... with delphi I would not be as ready ;p

sorry but what do you mean by SPP?

about the MMC, yes, I mean start, stop, continue.
I find that the combination of Midi Clock, System Real Time and Song Position Pointers do a good job of syncing devices that might have a variable tempo along the way, I use that also because I sync a sequencer that is usually looping around 16 mesures, so Linear Time Code is irrelevant in this kind of setup. I believe MTC is really more precise but is not really made to allow speed/tempo variations.
would be great if there was a start, stop, continue patch, but I really don't want to put any pressure on you!

other related question:
I was talking earlier about SPP, is there a way to have usine know where to play when I press continue?

thanks!

L-P

It puzzles me though that its a patch... should I be dedicating a track to receiving clock or integrate the modules in each of my own patch?
No, as the patch assigns the 'master synchro' you just need it once, that you can put in the master section (to be sure it's running all the time).
about the MMC, is there a way to send transport commands to the main transport without using MTC with it?
do you mean a way to receive PLAY, STOP, CONTINUE commands? In that case of course you can but the patch isn't available in the basic library. (I should make one)

I just tried both the Receive Midi Clock (vI and vII),
seems like I am able to sync the main tempo with that.

The MMC option in the setup is made for synchro with other host like pro-tools with the MIDI TIME CLOCK. Sometime it makes a confusion with the MIDI CLOCK which different.
Generally external hardwares send MIDI CLOCK and not MIDI TIME CLOCK...

its still talking about tempo though!

so Hi!
I am new to this software and forum, so please excuse my dumb question :)

so, I did my homeworks before comming here: I read the manual and doubled-check in the software but couldn't find the answer.

what I am trying to do is sync usine to an external Midi Clock pulse and have it respond to external MMC.
I see the synchronisation signal and controls are getting to the midi input of usine, but I can't get the tempo or transport to follow.
I of course tried to activate MMC in the setup window, but it didn't do it... :(

When USINE is turning ON with a fixed tempo (for example 74 bpm) the tempo is changing randomly for my whole workspace after 2 minutes running…. the tempos always increase.

I really don’t know why? Any body encounter this problem and solved it ?

Regards
