i had this problem too, the solution i found was to make the preset number to "-1" for all the "no active" preset manager module.

Can be easily adapted to your purpose.

Also I'll will change the preset manager module and include direct access to presets by a simple button. So it will be possible to make a direct midi learn on the preset very easily.
