However, VST GUIs always open very slowly in Usine in my experience.
I don't know if it is just Usine - I don't have other VSTs hosts to compare.

For example, Omnisphere can take 20 seconds to open.
I suspect when plugins open without an interface they don't bother to initialise it so this
is done the first time the GUI is opened. After that it can still take 5 seconds to show up.
This is on 2 year old i7 laptop.

That is why I was very glad of the inlets on the plugin manager to load and save fxp etc..
Before that you had to open the GUI to access the load and save buttons at the top of the window.

Also I expect the processing power and thread time is limited by Usine to prioritize audio ?
In general I cannot see why the VST interface of Omnisphere should open many times slower
than the standalone version.

It would be great if this could be improved. Perhaps an way of enabling more CPU to a loading VST
when audio is not running - like a Boost button !?

Simon.

I looked in the log to try to see where the holdup is, but the timing in the log is only accurate to the minute.

All VSTs are taking much more time than they used to, but some large Kontakt ensembles can take a full minute to show the GUI...

Thoughts?
