Well, RME's midi implementation isn't much better, as it too is based on Mackie Control. You have to send a midi message to put it in a particular mode, and then send a midi value to a slider. Depending on the mode, the same midi data can control a different bus.

I may yet use it in my wkp. I thought it was time I got my head around OSC, but I think this was a bad place to start ;)

It's really amazing to me that a company as sharp as RME has such a ridiculous and kludgey implementation, that actually requires up to three messages to get a specific action done. But there is a reason: it's all piggybacked on Mackie's horrible MIDI implementation, which was then copied by touchOSC, and then by RME. Amazing the traction bad ideas have. I believe there was an XKCD comic on the topic just a couple of days ago, actually.... [/RANT]

Anyway, if you set the top combo to INPUT, then you can pick which output buss you are seeing/controlling send volumes of with the fader directly below, which will update to show the buss name. (If you set the combo to OUTPUT or PLAYBACK, this combo won't do anything, you're just controlling the master levels of the busses.)

The tutorial from the manual pages says to enable osc messages in the trace, but that option doesn't exist in settings any more...

I tried the osc lister, but there seem to be a lot of controls not shown. I'm not seeing any values for outputs. I know totalmix has 3 pages of osc commands, but I'm not seeing anything except page 1 in the lister.

I have control of inputs working, and I have an address for master volume, but I can't find commands for any of the other outputs.

I'm completely new to OSC, so I may be missing something obvious!

Thanks!!

Hello

Sorry about delay
I found this patch and cleaned it and updated it
You can affect easily mute group (1/4) and alomost any fader of the input.

Hope it helps

I used to control my RME UFX in osc from HH (years ago) I can search for the patches I used but it seemed (to me) easier to use OSC than midi.
