I'm finding the program somewhat impenetrable at the moment, to say the least!

2016-06-14T09:43:12+02:002016-06-14T09:43:12+02:00https://brainmodular.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5444&p=35399#p35399 I'm new to Hollyhock, I've taken a look a few times, but never taken the plunge, but now I have a job that I could do with it (although I could do it another way, I fancy a challenge), and while I can see that it has amazing capabilities, I'm having a hard time getting started, so I'd really appreciate some help.
The job is to play various audio samples for an event. Some are long (>30 minutes, sound beds), others are short (sound FX). I've been able to play one using a sampler, but now I want to control this using my launchpad.
I've got two (current!) problems:
1) - I've assigned the sample play button to a button on the launchpad. When I press it, it works, but the problem is that I get a re-trigger when I release the button on the launchpad - each one generates a Note On message, so that makes sense, but I need to find a way to stop it.
2) - I'd like the launchpad button in question to light up when the sample is playing. I've managed that OK, but it never turns off. I take it I need some form of logic to send a Note On with Velocity of 0 when the sample stops playing (this is how the light gets turned off), but I can't see how logic is done.
I'll be honest - I've found the online help/manual not very helpful; it's probably because I've got completely used to my normal DAW (Cubase) which I've been using and teaching on for years, and being totally at the bottom of a (steep!) learning curve is hard work. I've spent about 4 hours trying to get this going, and not got particularly far, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Once I have one patch which works, I'm planning on re-creating it for each sample, and then altering the MIDI note number, so that should be straightforward, but getting these two issues fixed first seems important to me.
