- poly-speed allowed, I mean different cursors with various speed, not only one like in most of sequencers.
This is what i was referring to. I took it to mean you can have multiple play cursors on the grid each playing independently which would be really cool. Each part of the grid having exclusive bpm, repetitions etc.

This you can start and look at the possibilities to launch clips, maybe even change to Grain Players and we can work to get the sync.
I already have a modified version that accepts MIDI as the incoming to trigger each cell individually.

Not that far off from doing.

Also in the works I have a 8x Loop Recorder that arms, before trigger so that when playing back it syncs on time.
There is stretching but I haven't put my sync stuff in for more grain sync options.

A pure Usine solution would be nicer anyway :)

I just haven't played with the time correction algorithms in Usine much.

As far as triggering multiple sections of the grid at once like cells, that you cannot do.
This is something I hope to work on soon -- a grid of cells which trigger loops and/or one-shots. It would not be a replacement for the grid, but could allow for an alternative performance surface.

The only question: should I use the built-in samplers or go with something that uses zplane stretching algorithms such as Elastik Player?

But ? ? ?, it seems to me that you are most likely looking for different loop settings rather than multiple cursors. As others have mentioned, there can be as many different loop 'timings' as you might wish.

And I can have clips from different "sections"/scenes playing at the same time. Clip follow actions/repetitions are again per clip.
So while I can't jump between different patches as in HH2, it feels less restricted otherwise.

I'd be happy to be wrong though :-)

Cheers,

Tom

We spent years to imagine the perfect "live sequencer" or "live grid" without success...

Now I think we are closed to a great tool:
- handles repetitions,
- poly-speed allowed, I mean different cursors with various speed, not only one like in most of sequencers.
- a sequencer which can work backward on reverse files, event if you change the reverse in real time.

A lot of stuffs like that.

Thanks for all your suggestions and contributions.

Maybe this is what you were looking for.
HH2 has an additional workspace, if you click the button next to the main Audio Engine, you will have a second workspace you can work with.

The grid only has one cursor, but you can execute both workspaces simultaneously.
Also there are modules in which you can manipulate the section that you want. Look under Interface Control - Usine Panels
