I think the tricky part that senso is talking about is the fact that sysex midi don't have a drop-frame provisioning so it could easily desynchronize without warning.

In usine the term smpte is used to definite the position of the cursor in the sequencer.
It's probably not possible to use it to synchronize another machine or application.
I'm looking for a solution to drive a video (not read by usine) synchronised in usine.
do you think it's possible to generate an audio tc signal on read by the usine seq to send it to another program ?
Indeed, resolume (arena version) accept the smpte protocol.
the only solution i found to play sound and video together was to send a midi or osc signal at the begining of the sound.
The problem is when i stop the sound (or changing position) the video doesn't follow audio.
