So I'm not really in a hurry to upgrade. After all, maybe a cheap tablet would do the trick for the moment.

There's lots of single- and even dual-touch tablets And Win7 might not be what you need if, like me, you're eventually just going to settle for a VPN/remote desktop as a remote control for Win7 as a Usine control surface. I'm sorry to report I was so, so close to negotiating for a multi-touch tablet for use with Usine last Friday and couldn't quite get them to sell in small enough batches for our purposes. Honestly, I think this quest is pushing me towards just giving up on the whole idea.
