Thanks!!

At first I was wishing it was per-control, but now I see you can use filmstrips with faders (is this new, or did I just miss it before?) if you need a skinned horizontal fader......

I know I asked about this a while back, but thought I'd bring it up again. Just an option to allow horizontal or vertical knob control.

All the other software I have ever encountered uses vertical motion to control knobs (except for a few that used radial control, which I never cared for) I don't think I will ever get used to the usine way. It seems like a dinosaur hold-over from when usine just had a control panel with rows of horizontal faders.
Ok, brand new user here, and I totally agree. The standard for mouse to knob control is vertical (except for the rare radial which both unprecise and a pain with touchpads). A first contact with a Usine displaying non standard behavior such as this is kind of a turn off for new users.

maybe check them in addons

im sure a relatively descent lower cpu simple patch is doable with panels by waiting, but won''t work with your bmp sequences.

So far all my wkp's have had no knobs. But now I did a custom skin for my wkp, and I'd like to put a few knobs in.....

Also, knobman allows you to create strips for vertical faders, if you want something more sophisticated than two static images for background and thumb.... but these will not work with the current usine knob implementation. Of course horizontal faders work great this way.

I also think that vertical motion is easier to control than horizontal..... certainly we have stronger muscles for pushing and pulling than for side to side motion. Maybe it's just me, but I just drew some grids with the mouse in a drawing program, and my vertical lines are quite a bit more consistent than my horizontal ones.

cheers,
-e
